Adobe Firefly’s New AI Models Boost Image Generation – Web App Gets a Makeover

On 24th April 2025, Adobe announced the launch of its Firefly image generation models, highlighted as Firefly Image Model 4 and a new Firefly Vector Model. Apart from this, the company has also launched a redefined Firefly web app that consolidates all its AI models, including some from competitors like OpenAI and Google, into a single platform. The new releases’ main highlights are enhanced user control over image structure, style, camera perspectives, and zoom, with output resolutions up to 2 K. The new launches will streamline creative workflows for its users. Further, the company also intends to launch the mobile version of the web app soon.

The Standard Firefly plan costs users $9.99 per month, which provides access to 2,000 monthly generative credits, through which users can generate up to 20 five-second videos or translate up to 6 minutes of video or audio. On the other hand, the cost for the Pro plan is $29.99 per month, and allows users to generate up to 70 five-second videos or translate up to 23 minutes of audio or video.
The following are the new features of Firefly Image Model 4 and the web app, which will provide a major boost to users’ creative abilities:

  • Firefly Image Model 4 is described as Adobe’s fastest, most controllable, and most realistic image model yet, offering higher fidelity and more nuanced user adjustments than previous versions
  • By integrating models from competitors like OpenAI and Google, the new Firefly web app allows users to easily select the best tool for their specific creative needs without leaving the Adobe ecosystem
  • The general availability of the Firefly Video Model enables users to generate high-quality video clips from text or images, with granular control over cinematic elements, further broadening creative possibilities
  • The ability to generate images at up to 2K resolution and videos up to 1080p supports professional design, marketing, and content creation workflows
  • The Firefly Vector Model brings generative AI to vector graphics, powering features like Text-to-Vector in Illustrator for more efficient design creation

At a strategic level, Adobe’s AI-first approach is evident in its focus on customer-centric innovation, aiming to personalize and optimize experiences at scale through AI-driven orchestration. The company’s AI strategy spans the entire spectrum, from data and models to agents and applications, ensuring that AI is a core driver of both product development and user experience. Initiatives like the Adobe Experience Platform Agent Orchestrator and GenStudio Foundation represent Adobe’s commitment to unifying creative and marketing processes with AI, enabling real-time, adaptive customer experiences and seamless collaboration between creative and marketing teams.

Financially, Adobe is seeing rapid growth in AI-driven products, with projections to double AI-influenced annual recurring revenue and a significant portion of users already leveraging AI tools like Firefly within flagship applications such as Photoshop. These moves by Adobe show its ambition to lead the industry in AI-powered creativity and digital experience, making AI not just an add-on but a foundational technology across its ecosystem.
